With the aim of preserving the resource, Agroscope's Berries and Medicinal Plants group has domesticated a variety of Armoise du Valais from wild Valais populations. The first selection is relatively easy to grow in dry, hot regions such as the Rhône Valley, and yields well. In its quest for innovation, "Herbes du Grand St-Bernard", a Valais company known in particular for its aromatic herbs and herbal teas, has been marketing a Valais wormwood-based liqueur since summer 2019.
