Summer Cocktails recipe

We all love summertime. We all love to drink cocktails. But do you know what makes an authentic “summer” cocktail?

There are in particular two requirements to suit our beloved summer season. First of all, summer cocktails need to be refreshing. This is usually done by adding ice cubes or even crushed ice to the mixture. Secondly, it needs to have a particular fruity flavour, so that you can feel the tropics on your tastebuds.

And the good news: Most summer cocktails are quite easy to make, even if you don’t have any bartending experience. Therefore, we are starting easy today and welcome summer with a Caipirinha abricot. Caipirinha is Brazil’s national drink and offers a refreshing taste with an aroma of sweet lime juice. Our Morand Apricot Syrup adds an alpine touch to the mix.

Tips to make your cocktails better

Summer cocktails are easy to make and offer a sweet, fruity flavour, which is virtually loved by everybody. If you have just started to dive into the world of cocktails, take a look at the following tips to bring your skills to the next level.

Fresh fruits

When it comes to summer drinks, fresh and fruity flavours are as important as the alcoholic ingredients. Fruits can be directly used inside the drink and/or as beautiful garnish. We recommend you to experiment with fresh fruits as well as fruit syrups and pure fruit syrups to make the most of your summer cocktails.

Refresh your guest

When temperatures hit certain marks, the body is quenching for hydration. Therefore, don’t forget the ice when you create your cocktails. If you are a purist, you might be afraid that your ice cubes can influence the taste of your summer cocktails. Therefore, experiment with different amounts or use non-meltable stainless steel cubes.

Start small

Bartending has become an art. There are hundreds, if not thousands of drinks you can choose from. While some are quite easy to make, others require a reasonable amount of experience. Therefore, start small and experiment with easy recipes. Try to master and memorise your drinks before going over to the next ones. Once you feel comfortable, you can become creative and experiment with ingredients such as plant liquors or gin to create your own signature drinks.
